“ We had never heard of Devonshire. And realize we were so lucky that there was an opening when Mom was transferred from University hospital to Devonshire. When our family voices concerns about mom, their team addresses them promptly. All the permanent staff are excellent & special mention should be made to all the healthcare aides – they are amazing.
Devonshire is a great facility and I would certainly recommend it to anyone in need. ”
– Shirley, Kay’s daughter

Devonshire Adult Day Program Services
Daytime Respite support for Edmonton Seniors and their Families
As the first program of its kind in Edmonton and for Park Place, the Devonshire Adult Day Program is designed for senior adults who would benefit from an engaging and supportive daytime environment while continuing to live at home.
Operating Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the program provides care for up to 40 participants a day. We specifically aim to support caregivers by providing reliable daytime care, offering you the peace of mind and time you need to rest, work, or attend to other responsibilities. Participants attend during the day and return home in the afternoon, allowing them to maintain their independence while receiving meaningful support.
-
Social & Recreational Activities
Supporting every aspect of well-being, we offer a safe, social, and supportive day experience. Participants enjoy a structured day filled with social interaction, community connection, group programs, recreational games, and cognitive stimulation programs. We also incorporate group therapeutic exercise programs focused on strength and mobility. For those who need a break, opportunities for rest, relaxation, and quiet time are seamlessly integrated into the daily schedule.
-
Nutrition & Lifestyle
Food is an important part of the day, which is why we provide a nutritious hot lunch and healthy snacks daily. We gladly accommodate special diets to ensure all nutritional needs are comfortably met. To further support healthy daily living, participants also have convenient access to on-site hair salon services for an additional fee.
-
Clinical Care & Daily Support
Our program is ideal for individuals who may require assistance with daily living or who are experiencing early-stage dementia or cognitive changes. We provide monitoring and clinical support, which includes medication support, vital sign clinics, and cognitive testing. Dedicated personal care support, including bathing assistance, is also available to ensure participants’ unique needs are fully supported.
-
Caregiver Support & Supervision
Your loved one’s well-being is our priority, which is why we provide an emergency response and dedicated staff supervision during all program hours. Beyond providing daytime respite for family and caregivers, we offer education and support resources for families, health system navigation, and guidance on higher levels of care, as needs change.
